Received the new spring today.
Awning spring adjustment.
You ll need a screwdriver and something like a ladder to support the awning as you work on it.
Support the roller bar the part of the assembly that holds the awning when it s retracted at its center with a 6 foot ladder or other suitable device.
Roll the awning back up to observe how tight it is.
You do not need to put the screws back in.
If you over tighten the spring it will break.
Sometimes you make an adjustment too far and you have to re adjust it back.
If not then repeat the previous steps.
The process is fairly simple but having someone to assist you in making the adjustments makes it easier.
If you have to adjust the awning make sure that you are adjusting it the right amount the first time.
Rotate the support bar one turn to tighten the spring.
Once you ve tightened the spring set the leg back on the ground supporting the weight of the awning tube and stake it back down.
Only rotate the legs one or two turns at a time and don t do more than 4 or 5 total.
